Once she got a little bigger,
she loved galloping on horseback with her father.

Jo loved being at the hub
of a big, busy family.
She and Walter had 4 children,
3 in-laws
and 4 grandchildren.

Sometimes pensive and thoughtful, (5/99)

often silly and playful,
Jo was a wonderful grandmother! (4/98)

While on Captiva Island,
she spent many hours
being creative with all
the shells she'd found.

She also enjoyed painting and
made this piece of her cat,
Sassy in 1997.

Fortunately, her artistic
skills improved with age!
We don't know how old she was
when she drew the cat below
but it is a treasure.

Despite needing oxygen,
and having a hard time regulating her temperature,
she was still such fun to be with.

Forget-me-nots!
Right click -Show Picture joshells.jpg (12859 bytes) So many kind words from friends and family (esp. grandchildren!)

We were listening to
"Blackbird" covered by CSN
and a black bird flew out of the flowers
at our feet right in the middle
of the song!

The shells and flower pots
on the sand all had
a little of Jo in them,
We tossed them in the pond
or friends took them to their
respective oceans and gardens.

She really is everywhere now.
