Jamestowne- May

For those of you who missed this,
the 400th anniversary of the settlement at Jamestowne Virginia was in May 2007.

We attended the Jamestowne Society events
which included:

A private visit to the island

with a visit from all 3 ships

There was new excavation going on.

Best story...I had a message on my cell phone in VA. The woman mentions a message that I'd left in the CTDAR newsletter.  We had hoped to all meet up at the Jamestowne Society dinner event.  She left a message for Mary Tallmadge! (My DAR chapter is Mary Floyd Tallmadge Chapter.) 
I clarified that my name was Alice Ridgway...
She asked..."Is this the Alice Ridgway who's wedding I catered?!"
Indeed, it was Susan Goodman who had catered our wedding!

Then on our way home (we drove!), we stopped at

Monticello

and Mount Vernon - this is a view of the Potomac
